  • Fantastic location, beautiful property and surrounding land. Me and my family had a wonderful stay here Emily and the rest of the family made us feel very welcome and accommodated when anything was requested, helped with recommendations which is always good when not from the area. Beautiful part of the country and great fun to explore we will hopefully be back one day as one week only scratches the surface ! Grace, Sarah and Tony :)

  • We really enjoyed our stay at little Stadbury. The space was great for us and our 3 children. Emily was really helpful and we arrived to a lovely touch of fresh scones on arrival. Whilst off the beaten track, the location was great, easily accessible to some fabulous beaches and the town of salcombe and kinsbridge. Thanks again

  • Great open plan space. Quiet and peaceful location with great access to local towns. Emily and Stuart were great hosts

    — Richard D, 15 Jul 2019
  • Lovely converted barn. Hidden away yet with easy access to the coast and surrounding areas. Very relaxing and Emily was super helpful both before and during our visit.

  • Great accommodation spacious, very well equipped, sparkling clean and generally a welcoming and comfortable place to stay . would work well in both the summer and winter. Emily was a welcoming host and the place is well located to explore that part of Devon. very quiet and relaxing location but not as close to the sea /estuary as we thought it would be - quite a walk up and down hills or a drive

  • We highly recommend Little Stadbury as a relaxing and charming holiday home in a beautiful and peaceful location. We were very comfortable and loved meeting Emily, Stuart and Chester, who are perfect, helpful hosts without being intrusive. It was wonderful to hear bird song all day and to be able to take walks straight from the cottage. The little shop in Aveton Gifford is excellent and we also recommend the Aune Valley Farm Shop and Butcher just outside Loddiswell, and the fishmonger Catch of the Day in Kingsbridge. We had a great day out in Dartmouth and also enjoyed our trip to Bigbury Beach/Burgh Island as well as many other delightful outings in this lovely part of Devon.

  • Little Stadbury is a lovely, quiet spot to use as a base in the South Hams. Close to all the beaches, Kingsbridge and Salcombe, you’re never far from a good walk, pub, shops or just relax in the large open plan living space which has all you need. The home made scones on arrival were a lovely touch from Emily which were devoured on the spot! Gatsby particularly enjoyed chasing bunnies in the field next to the property! We highly recommend a stay here.

  • We loved our stay and plan to return. Clean, comfortable, spacious, nicely decorated barn conversion in a rural location with great beaches in all directions. Emily was lovely - more to chat about!

    — Janie R, 24 May 2019
  • Little Stadbury is fantastic. It has everything you need and is really comfortable. There were four adults and two big dogs staying and the downstairs space was spacious and a brilliant layout for relaxing in. It’s very quiet and surrounded by beautiful countryside. Towns and beaches are easily reached by car. Emily was very welcoming and we were very well looked after during our stay. Highly recommend and would love to go back at some point in the future.

    — Lucy C, 27 Apr 2019
  • This is a lovely two bedroom barn conversion. The downstairs space is open plan and very comfortable and relaxing with outside spaces to enjoy if the weather is good. The surrounding countryside is unspoiled and beautiful. We enjoyed a wade through the estuary when the tide was going out and several walks from the property. The beach is great for children and dogs and surfing enthusiasts. We recommend it!

  • We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this cottage. It was clean and comfortable and relaxing. Friendly owners next door. Good location for exploring the area.

    — Hayley T, 13 Apr 2019
  • When we arrived Emily was there to greet us as show us around. The place was sparkling clean and had everything we needed, along with some extra touches like homemade scones which was really appreciated. The open plan layout was perfect as we had our dog Mario with us, so he had lots of space and a little garden out the back to sun himself. It was warm, comfortable and very peaceful. Location wise it is very close to lots of beautiful beaches and restaurants and shops within very easy driving distance. We would definitely recommend Emily’s place and would stay here again!

    — Hayley H, 31 Mar 2019
  • Great location of the beaten track with lovely walks to Bantham & Averton Gifford. Really lovely clean property with everything we needed & would recommend a stay there. Emily was very welcoming & nothing too much trouble.

  • We had the most relaxing, amazing stay at Little Stadbury. The accommodation is comfy, spacious and well thought out. The beds and sofas are super snuggly! We loved how the stay for our dog was also thought about with dog and boot washing facilities and dog towels provided. Great for extra space in a packed family car!! Little Stadbury is ideally situated to explore the beautiful area, whether you love the beach or a good walk- there are endless options on the door step. We all enjoyed the walks, the children and Teddy the dog loved both Bantham and Bigbury beach. Emily, Stuart and Chester are fabulous hosts. We loved meeting them and George loved playing with Chester. Thank you for a wonderful stay and perfect hospitality. All in all, a perfect holiday! It was very hard to come home.

  • Thank you so much for the wonderful stay! We were so happy to meet the friendly and welcoming hosts! They managed to create a cosy place to relax with a traditional flavour. The views are breathtaking, the neighbourhood is quiet, peaceful and beautiful! We’d definitely love to come again!

  • This place is a little gem! Wonderfully situated to explore the South Hams, by foot or car. The accommodation comprises an open plan barn conversion at ground floor level and two generously sized bedrooms above. It is presented to a very high standard and very comfortable. Two WC’s, bath and shower. Emily and Stuart are next door which Is a bonus as they are such lovely hosts. Dog friendly too. This is an 11 out of 10!

    — Simon, 13 Oct 2018
  • Emily is a very welcoming host and the property is a lovely quiet & central location for a long weekend to explore the beautiful coastline between Salcombe and Bigbury.

    — Roger, 01 Oct 2018
  • We had a lovely stay at Little Stadbury. Really nice house, super high spec fittings and very stylishly done! Great setting, our 19 month old daughter loved running around the orchard picking blackberries. Would love to come back and stay again.

  • We had a wonderful time in the South Hams in this lovely holiday home. Great location and Emily and family made us feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

  • Four adults and one dog for one week in Little Stadbury. A great converted building; spacious, very well equipped and very comfortable with all mod cons. Quiet location off the beaten track but still within easy driving distance of towns and beaches. Great walking straight out of the front door onto the coastal path down to Bantham or around to Bigbury if you really feel the need for exercise. The best welcoming and helpful hosts you could ask for. Many thanks Emily, Stuart and Chester

  • This property is in a lovely isolated and peaceful location but only 10 to 15 minutes drive to fantastic beaches and lovely towns. Kingsbridge and Salcombe are great to explore and we enjoyed nights out at the old bakery restaurant and the Crabshell. South Milton beach is stunning, as is Hope Cove and Banthum, you can’t really go wrong. The whole of The Hams is stunning. Emily and Stuart were lovely hosts.

    — Mani, 05 Jul 2018
  • Really enjoyed our stay and a lovely spot amongst gorgeous surroundings to enjoy the south hams area

    — Claire, 28 Jun 2018
  • We had a lovely stay at Little Stadbury. Emily has done a fantastic job in creating a really comfortable, well equipped property and she and Stuart made us feel totally at home by their warm and friendly welcome. The open plan living space works really well and the outdoor space of the paddock was perfect for the dog!
We were blessed with lovely weather so spent most of the time walking all the different coast paths etc, of which their is an abundance in that area. Can recommend the Gastrobus on Batham beach, the East Soar Outdoor Activity centre for tea and coffee refreshments (very alternative but delightful - it has an honesty box!) and Sailor V in Salcombe, for food any time of day.

  • Such a fantastic place and so well located for the South Devon coast. The accommodation itself is just lovely and very well equipped, we wanted for nothing. The kids made themselves very much at home as soon as we arrived and have since been bugging me for touch operational bedside lamps and big cosy blankets. We love being outside (well I do ) and we were extremely lucky with the weather allowing us to go on gorgeous walks and runs. Add to that the warm & welcoming hosting from Emily, Stuart & Chester, and we had a brilliant holiday. Thank you!

  • A lovely rural cottage with everything you need for a relaxing break. Space itself was perfect for four of us (two couples) - loads of room downstairs in both the kitchen/dining area and on the sofas. Bedrooms were comfy and spacious. Bathrooms clean and neat. The area is beautiful and there are miles of footpaths right from the front door.

  • A delightful place to stay. Emily and Stuart couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful. The barn conversion is a lovely space. We stayed in December and it was warm and cosy. It is just as shown in the pictures. The design and layout made cooking and relaxing there very easy. It even includes a dinky security cupborad for valuables. It was wonderfully quiet too. It's a good base to see this part of Devon with everything you might need nearby. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • We had a great long weekend here in November (2 adults, 2 teenagers and 2 spaniels). The property had everything we needed and was new, clean and very comfortable. Emily was a great host and nothing was too much trouble. It's in a great location for some beautiful dog walks, and exploring the lovely beaches of the South Hams. We hope to go back again.

    — Joanne R, 28 Nov 2017
  • My partner & I stayed here with a couple of friends and two dogs in early November & the property was a great size to accommodate us all. It’s lovely, beautifully finished & furnished and Emily, the host, is really welcoming, friendly & helpful. We felt at home there straight away. We were very fortunate to have great weather for most of our stay so did plenty of exploring of the nearby coast & countryside. We’d definitely return to stay here and visit more of the local beaches, walk further along the coast path & properly explore Dartmoor.

  • We had a wonderful time at Little Stadbury and Emily and family were fantastic hosts; always on hand to help with any queries and very welcoming. The location is great - it isn't far to bustling villages and towns, Plymouth, beautiful beaches and other attractions such as Paignton Zoo. The accommodation is of a high standard and we particularly loved the ample living space and comfortable seating. We would definitely return!

    — Graeme, 31 Oct 2017
  • Great location and cosy place to stay. Close to everything you need but also hidden away when you want to relax. So clean and modern but with a country house feel.

    — Amy, 22 Oct 2017
  • The description and reviews are very accurate, it is a lovely place. A warm welcome from Emily makes you feel at home. It is spacious, clean and well decorated. The location is perfect for a country get away with easy access to beach, pubs and towns. I will definitely be back and recommend to everyone.

    — Emily, 03 Oct 2017
  • This cottage is in a simply stunning location. Felt so private and relaxing and in just 10 mins you can be at the beach, in a pub or near all the coveniences of Kingsbridge. The property was absolutely beautiful, the most comfortable beds and had everything you needed. The wildlife was fantastic and my family and I loved walking out the dog on the river estuary walk. Bantham and Burgh Island are a must and Plymouth is just a short drive away. Thank you to Emily and Stuart and their wee boy for being so brilliantly welcoming - really hope to visit again! X

  • Lovely place to stay and great hosts. Accommodation is really high standard and in a great location within easy reach of lovely beaches. Emily and her family were very hospitable.

  • Little Stadbury. What a beautiful and charming holiday home. Very homey and practical. Beautifully located, with green and hilly surroundings. Little Stadbury is very airy and spacious, perfect for our family of four. We miss the lovely crisp beds!! Lots of playground for our children. Closeby to the South Devon features we love so much. Would definately go back!

    — Maike, 19 Aug 2017
  • Perfect accommodation in beautiful and quiet surroundings. Lovely hosts next door. Great for exploring South Devon. Good spot for hiking, kayaking or just relaxing on one of the nearby beaches. Einfach eine Top Unterkunft. Absolute aanrader. Prachtig gerenoveerd. Mooie en rustige omgeving.

  • Little Stadbury is a stunning cottage with great character and deceptively large for a two bed cottage. Great for families and couples alike. When you consider that Emily and Stuart only started refitting the cottage this year they have done a stunning job! My wife and I together with our rather wild cocker spaniel loved our stay there and would certainly consider a return. It was a fantastic location from which to explore South Devon with the stunning beaches close by and only a short drive to Kingsbridge which has all you'll need to keep you going if you are on a full self catering holiday. If not then there are plenty of good dog friendly pubs about, The Sloop Inn in Bantham, being the closest as the crow flies, we loved. If you fancy you can walk there from the cottage across country 1.5 miles away, the beach being just half a mile more. Finally a word about the owners, Emily and Stuart. They were great hosts, lovely neighbours and already feel like friends. If however you want to keep yourself to yourself they are very respectful of that and blend into the background. Highly recommended!

  • We had a lovely stay at Emily's place. It's beautifully furnished, spotlessly clean and cosy. It's also in a great location - quiet enough to get away from it all, but close to superb beaches, amazing walks and local shops. Emily was great to deal with and always got back to us quickly. She even helped out with a high chair for our one year old! The perfect place to stay in Devon.

  • We had a fantastic week staying in Little Stadbury. The house is just perfect and beautifully finished with everything you need to have an enjoyable holiday. Emily and her family are great hosts and offered advice on the area as well as being flexible with arrival and departure times. There are great walks from the house with amazing views over the Avon estuary and on to Bantham beach. All in highly recommended!

  • What a lovely place! The cottage has been beautifully fitted out and is comfortable and clean and has everything in it that we needed. A gorgeous part of Devon, with beaches, the Moor and pretty villages all very near. Some good walking nearby, even without having to take the car out. Excellent, thank you Emily and Stuart.

  • Little Stadbury is in a secluded location, surrounded by nature and beautiful walks from the doorstep. However, not too far away by car are beautiful villages and towns, so it has the best of both worlds. The inside of the property is beautiful. Very nicely decorated and clean. There is plenty of space inside. It is a great place to relax in the peace and quiet of the countryside. There is also a private outside space with table and chairs which is a big bonus. Emily gave us very clear instructions of how to find the property and we were welcomed on arrival with fresh scones, which were very appreciated after our long journey. We would love to stay in this property again. Thank you Emily!

  • To write what we loved about the place would take pages and pages! The converted barn where we stayed has just been done up. Decor lovely, towels think and soft, and the best was a set of very sharp kitchen knives, quite unheard of in our experience! The place was kitted out with whatever we needed, and in excellent condition. The setting is so beautiful, quiet and remote, but a short drive away from little villages where you can find what shops you need. We never heard a car at all the whole time we stayed. Lovely views and walks around the area. The premises also included a field where the children could kick a ball around. The hosts Emily and Stuart were wonderful and accommodating, friendly and helpful. We only meant to stay 3 nights but loved it so much we decided to stay an extra night and brave the traffic home. Can't recommend this place highly enough!
